Professionally, she is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). She completed extensive training and mentorship with Dr. Ellora Weston, DPT, OCS, SFMA of Sonora, CA in both Active Release Technique (ART) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).  She has earned certifications in advanced full-body Active Release Technique, SFMA, the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), TRX Sports Medicine, and classical Pilates.  Dr. Kate is currently pursuing certification in Jones Counterstrain to add to her manual therapy skills. She believes in a tailored approach toward treating patients, incorporating hands-on techniques to restore mobility and reduce pain as needed while working toward building strength, stability, and proper movement patterning from the ground up. Should you choose her as your physical therapist, you’ll be welcomed into her home in East Missoula. You may hear her dogs barking and chickens clucking from the back yard as you enter through her gate. To welcome you in the waiting room will be comfy chairs, hot coffee and tea, and often a toasty fire on cold days. She has chosen to practice out of her home for several reasons, the first being to create a warm environment for her patients – you won’t find it to be the gym or office setting typical of most physical therapy clinics. Secondly, is so that she can provide services to patients regardless of their insurance plan. It’s no secret in the physical therapy world that insurance reimbursement is declining, often forcing clinics to either limit their acceptance of patients with lower-paying insurance plans (or stop accepting insurance altogether) in order to afford their overhead. By practicing out of her home, this becomes less of an issue. 200 years ago, it was commonplace for folks to live above or behind the family business – The third reason is so that she can spend more time with her child, rather than spending time commuting – thirty minutes a day in the car adds up. Ultimately, working from home allows her more time and resources to be the best physical therapist and mother she can be. Visit her at the Women’s Fair to learn more about how she can help you. You can also find more information on her website and Facebook page.

Since her cancer was so rare, Jadyn required specialized treatment from a team of doctors at Seattle Children’s Hospital. The dedicated specialists and state-of-the-art facility offered Jadyn something that any parent would want for their child, the hope of being a cancer survivor. Over the course of three years, countless visits to Children’s Hospital allowed Jadyn’s family an opportunity to view a world that they scarcely knew existed. It’s a lifelong commitment for Britt and Alecia, Jadyn’s parents, to use the experience that touched their lives so deeply to help others—providing financial support to families facing serious health issues. The foundation raises funds through events like the Jadyn Fred Golf Scramble, held annually at Larchmont Golf Course, the Jadyn Fred Benefit Auction and many more.
